The avos in my garden has been fruited since last year. I couldn`t get the timing right to harvest it. At first, it didn`t ripen after picking them, so I decided to not go on and harvest them. This year when I harvested and let them ripen it did so beautifully. Now I am hooked on them. The avos from last year still has it`s kick, and is satisfying. I think they just needed some more time ripening and ready to eat. I wasn`t quite sure of the time it takes to ripen. The loquat is in full bearing as well. The orange smaller plumish fruite is satisfyingly juicy, and sweet. I haven`t had loquat in a while, and am thankful for the bounty. I find myself finding ingredients for my salad here and there. Thanks bees, and other helpful insects!

May gray. I`m wondering whether we are moving forward with spring, or just have a really gray spring this year. It`s funny to think that the fruites in the orchard is there, but that they will be ripe in summer. I look at them everyday, and I feel like they`re sort of growing? I lean towards planting herbs and veggies, but flowers will be nice too. Just wild flowers. I have two beds that needs plants. I was thinking of some herbs I could plant. I was thinking fennel, lavender, and lemon balm. We already have a bed overflowing with peppermint. One moment I think I got it, then another back to the drawing board!
Amidst all the wild weather of US this winter spring has come to the Camellia orchard. The fruite trees and the Wisteria seems to be ignoring the crazy weather, and just pushing its way to spring. To my surprise some fruites that didn`t bloom last year seem to be in full bloom this year. The bees has done it`s job, and now the fruites are coming. With the surplus of the fruits, specifically the oranges a picker is going to come this weekend, pick them, and donate to food pantry. What a great service. I often take my peppermint tea in the back, and sit on the usual bench. I hear the birds, and feel the energy of the trees. I sip on my tea, and soak in the nature present that day. Until I feel like my heart has opened up, and connect with a few.
