Objective:
To learn the holidays in Japan. What are the traditions, and how do they celebrate them? Learn from drills & dialogue.

Japanese holidays are unique, and often times celebrate folklores, nature, and deity. National holidays are unique to each countries. Some holidays are celebrated in America as well. Such as New Years. Lately Japanese celebrate Halloween and Christmas as well.
A sentence on each of the holidays:
New Years~
At the beginning of the year Japanese celebrate good fortune, and welcoming in the New Years gods for this.
Setsubun~
At the change of the seasons households want to welcome in good fortune, and rid of bad happenings.
Tanabata~
In the folklore where Orihime and Hikoboshi fell in love gets to meet once a year on this day.
Obonn maturi~
In respect of ancestors there are summer festivals where one can celebrate them.
Otukimi~
This day in the year is suppose to have the most beautiful moon in the year. Japanese eat lots of good autumn food to be grateful for the great bounty.
Pick a Japanese holiday, and draw a picture of how it might be.
On Tanabata people make wishes and put it on a rectangle paper and decorate them on a bamboo branch. Read the wishes, and make one wish for yourself in Japanese.
