Journey~community

At Camellia we are on a language journey. We are a community of language learners. Where was your beginning of the journey? Where are you now? Check in with fellow Camellias and see where their journeys has taken them.

Back in 2019, I met a family from Fukushima on the Shinkansen and had a fun conversation about the places we're from and what we liked to do for fun. We had traded snacks too, KitKat for Cheez-Its. It was great to hold a conversation with them in their native language and the experience made me want to work towards improving my conversation in Japanese. ~Jason

So… on the first day in Kobe, me & Mom we checkin at a hotel. After that me & Masato sensi went to a coffee shop to have our first in person lesson. ~H

I love traveling on air planes because it fun and exciting to go to Japan. So I can play with my cousins. And eat all of the yummy food. And to see the cherry blossom. ~L

Hi I`m Skylar:)

I`m from Hawaii, but my mom is from Japan and my dad is from New York. I grew up in a house with two very different cultures and a lot of “Japanglis”. haha. I want to study Japanese so I can communicate better with my family in Japan. Especially my cousin Mayuko. Fun fact! Erika sensi and I have the same Japanese family name (soga) and the same family seal! So we are probably related!! small world huh.
